We Have Added a Second Athlete of the Month!

We don’t want to rain on Sarkhan’s parade as well deserved June “King of the gym” but we had to add a second athlete of the month for June. This member’s hard work can not go unmentioned. One of the hardest workers in the gym, Glove has been putting in the hours and the results have been paying off.

Meet Glove

1> Where are you from?
DIY store in South Africa.

2> When you’re not at Perpetua what do you do for work and for fun?
Perpetua is a good release for me but landscaping is very physically demanding so I like to Netflix & chill with a wee Hendricks & tonic. I love watching the Chelsea flower show, it keeps me on top of my game.

3> How did you find out about CrossFit?
I was getting stiff and tired after a day’s landscaping so was finding ways to get stronger and learn good lifting techniques.

4> How long have you been a member at Perpetua?
I flew in from South Africa last year, a big landscaping company needed the best in the business and hand hunted me.

5> Why do you do CrossFit?
I’m hoping to compete in the gardening world championships in 2017, CrossFit helps me to garden faster and garden more hours in the day.

6> How often do you train?
5 days per week, consistency for results. I struggle to make a Saturday morning because Friday night’s get a little messy as myself & the other gloves go to the flower bed for a few drinks.

7>What are your fitness goals?
I’m currently a medium glove, kind of a one size fits all. I want to put on some size and be a large glove.

8> What is your greatest achievement?
Most improved gardening glove at the Under 16 World Championships.

9> What or who motivates you?
I enjoy working out with others, they’re much different than me. They’re not gloves but I like to prove I can be just as good if not better. I just enjoy the craic as well.

10> What is your favourite and least favourite WOD or movement?
Burpees & muscle ups. I’ve no real use for burpees.

11>Would you recommend CrossFit to your friends and family? What advice would you give them starting out?
Oh yes, the other gloves love it. I hassled them so much and they made fun of me but when they saw my improved ability in the garden they had to try it out.

12>Favourite cheat meal?
Soil, it’s kinda like a dirty meal. I usually keep it clean with roses though.

13> Favourite thing about Perpetua?
It’s so unique, treats us all as equals even no matter what level. Especially me, being a glove and all that.

14>Bonus question: Most memorable or funniest moment at Perpetua?
That time I won the 2017 Open…oh yea you’ll see!
