Here is some information on Connor to date.
Originally from Derry I moved to Dublin 5 years ago to study Economics & Finance at UCD. I captained UCD Swim Team during my time at the college. I have been part of the Pentathlon Ireland High Performance squad for the past 2 and half years, representing Ireland internationally in Modern Pentathlon.

I achieved my first coaching qualification in Swimming at the age of 16 and have been involved at various coaching levels from beginners, to Junior National level swimmers as well as Youth International Pentathletes. I started Crossfit just over a year ago at Crossfit Derry. As a full time athlete it was not possible to commit to training Crossfit as I was already training over 20 hours a week. From that first session I had caught the “Crossfit bug” and from then I knew that after I retired from Pentathlon I’d look to take up Crossfit.

My retirement came a bit earlier in life than expected, but since then I have dived right in to the Crossfit world. In September I hope to start my Masters in Strength & Conditioning. Crossfit obviously incorporates a huge amount of S&C and has a lot of similarities, but I have learned that it is so much more than S&C, Olympic lifting and working out, it’s a community that supports each other in workouts but also forms friendships for likeminded people and people from many different backgrounds.

I am really excited about joining the CrossFit Dublin apprentice programme combining my passions and backgrounds, of coaching, S&C and my degree in Economics & Finance. A goal for me would be to become the best possible coach that I can, to always learn but to become part of the Crossfit Dublin community. I hope that my experience as an athlete and the knowledge that I will gain in my Masters as well as learning from Crossfit Dublin coaches is something that I can contribute to the community.
