1> What do you do outside of CrossFit for work and for fun?
I work in sales in Google for the French automotive market.

As for the fun part, I travel a lot and I’m also a huge fan of skiing, which I can’t do here obviously – that’s the only drawback of living in Dublin. 🙂

2> How did you get involved in CrossFit?
Kind of “by accident”… I liked to keep fit when I was younger but completely stopped because my previous job back in France was too time consuming. When I moved to Dublin 1.5 years ago I was in bad shape and a heavy smoker but I was highly motivated to get back on my feet. Coach Eoghan organized an introduction session I joined in and it was “love at first sight” with Crossfit.

3> When did you first join CFD?
One year ago, I started my fundamentals in November 2013.

4> What was your first WOD in the classes?
Not a clue… I just remember that it was 6th January 2014. I guess I wasn’t that bad as they didn’t kick me out and I’m still a member. 🙂

5> When did you realise CrossFit was right for you?
I knew it would be a great fit for me even before starting Crossfit simply because I like to set new challenges and I like to push myself outside my comfort zone.

6> What are your short term goals?
Doing my Level 1 certificate course. This was more of a long term goal which has not been bumped up my priority list recently. I’m glad to say that it’s now a short term goal which I will be completing in December in Belfast (with Michelle, another great Crossfit Perpetua athlete).

7> Long term goals?
To stay fit, healthy, and hit a lot of new PBs! I’d also like to run the 3 different Spartan races in 2015, including one in the US.

8> What is your greatest accomplishment?
In London, two weeks ago, when I hit my PB 2 reps OHS @ 45kg when I could barely go down with 30kg a week before that!

9> What is your favourite WOD / movement?
Without a shadow of a doubt, pull-ups! This movement drives me crazy for some reason! Next step is to get the butterfly technique down. So one of my favorite WOD unquestionably is (sassy) Fran!

10> What is your least favourite WOD / movement?
OHS, this movement is pretty challenging as I have bad mobility. But I’m seriously working on it!

11> Would you recommend CrossFit to your friends and family? What advice would you give them?
Defo! Many of my friends and colleagues have either started Crossfit or at least gave it a try. I guess they were curious about my addiction, and many of them have become hooked as well.

12> Least favourite and favourite music to WOD to?
Least favourite: Daft Punk (which might be surprising for a French guy…)

Favourite: Resurrection – Michal Califran

13> Bonus question: Most memorable or funniest CFD moment?
Honestly, every day with the 6am crew is a great moment! Great craic every morning!

1> What do you do outside of CrossFit for work and for fun?
I work as National Sales Manager for Servier Laboratories, a French Pharmaceutical Company.
For fun I go to Crossfit 3 times per week and play golf at weekends. Also I like to walk in Cabinteely Park early in the morning with my dog.

2> How did you get involved in CrossFit?
I had sore knees, a sore neck, sore back, sore hip etc. I met Albert Keogh a chartered physiotherapist who runs the gym in Blackrock and he encouraged me to join to do some flexibility exercises and strength and conditioning work.

3> When did you first join CFD?
Approx. two and a half years ago.

4> When did you realise CrossFit was right for you?
After 4 to 6 weeks when some of the aches and pains started to disappear.

5> What are your short term goals?
To be fitter and healthier.

6> Long term goals?
To remain fit and strong and healthy.

7> What is your greatest accomplishment?
To get full movement back in my shoulder and be able to do 80 press ups in a morning session without pain. Thank you Albert.

Dead Lifts

9> What is your least favourite WOD / movement?
Hollow Hold

10> Would you recommend CrossFit to your friends and family? What advice would you give them?
I recommend it strongly, come and meet our coach, Andy Smyth, and realise your potential. Get rid of the aches and pains! Andy is a fully qualified Crossfit coach and supervises our Masters Class at the pace that suits you.

No complaints on the music front!
