Congratulations to this month’s Athlete of the Month Sergio Gonzalez!
Sergio was chosen by the coaches as this month’s athlete of the month due to his hard work and dedication.  Sergio has gone from finding a few air squats tough, to doing body weight back squat, pull ups and most importantly solid movement at intensity.

Keep up the good work Sergio!

Meet Sergio

1> What do you do outside of CrossFit for work and for fun? I work for Twitter Dublin in Sales Strategy for the European markets. With CrossFit & Family responsibilities I don’t have much time for fun, but I enjoy going to a nice restaurant or to the movies. I also love a good hike. I travel a lot.

2> How did you get involved in CrossFit? I met a friend of mine in San Francisco during my master’s class reunion a year and half ago. He mentioned how CrossFit had had a real impact in his wellbeing so I decided to give it a go.

3> When did you first join CFP? July 2014

4> What was your first WOD in the classes? I don’t remember the WOD, but I do remember being sore for two weeks.

5> When did you realise CrossFit was right for you? Very early on to be honest. I started feeling better physically and emotionally almost as soon as I started.

6> What are your short term goals? Feel good and improve with every WOD.

7> Long term goals? Be fitter at 45 than I was at 25

8> What is your greatest accomplishment? CrossFit wise, a couple of things. First, being able to finish an AMRAP WOD without pauses or having to “break it out” and, second, finally managing to “get” DU’s!

9> What is your favourite WOD / movement? Push ups

10> What is your least favourite WOD / movement? Power cleans (OH squat is totally beyond my league for the moment, so I won’t even mention that)

11> Would you recommend CrossFit to your friends and family? What advice would you give them? Absolutely, and I have already! My advice would be to really commit. Embed it in your weekly routine, don’t make a decision to come every day. Just know that you’ll come.

12> Least favourite and favourite music to WOD to? I never notice what music is playing, I think my brain is concentrating too much in getting me through the motions and keeping my heart beating!

13> Bonus question: Most memorable or funniest CFP moment? The other day when I finally got DU’s.
