Congratulations to Perpetua’s Athlete of the Month – Lynn Sutton!
Lynn finished Top 3 in this year’s Perpetua scaled Open and has been smashing out the PB’s this month. (Press, snatch AND Overhead squat!!)
Lynn’s attendance is consistant and regular and it is really paying off (we checked her account and she has barely missed one day this month!!!)
Amazing stuff – keep it up Lynn!!

Meet Lynn

1> Where are you from?
Dublin

2> When you’re not at Perpetua what do you do for work and for fun?
I work in Facebook as a tech brat. For fun, I horse ride, spend a lot of time thinking I’m very witty in various Whatsapp groups and drinking and eating away any good work I have done in the gym, which isn’t that much to begin with.

3> How did you find out about CrossFit?
I worked with Mags Kennedy who, apart from being probably the hottest girl in Dublin, also kept going on about how much she enjoyed CrossFit. One time she didn’t cancel even though she had a hangover. I went around for an intro class and spent most of the time looking at the other athlete’s thinking “I’ll never be able to do that”, a mantra I still live by today.

4> How long have you been a member at Perpetua?
3.5 years.

5> Why do you do CrossFit?
It gives me something to post about on Instagram. Gotta get them likes! #crossfit #crossfitgirls #girlswholift #whatisafitfam?

6> How often do you train?
On a great week 6/7 times, on a bad week… pizza.

7>What are your fitness goals?
To be awesome at everything. Or pull ups. I’d settle for pull ups.

8> What is your greatest achievement?
Showing up on time for 6am more often than not. Seriously, the struggle is real.

9> What or who motivates you?
Cripplingly low self esteem and a deep hatred of my muffin tops.

10> What is your favourite and least favourite WOD or movement?
My favourite WOD is the one where I don’t come last. Least favourite movement is thrusters.

11>Would you recommend CrossFit to your friends and family? What advice would you give them starting out?
Yes, definitely. After nearly 2 years of trying, I finally got my husband to join Crossfit with me. I did this mostly by taunting his masculinity, stating that I was a far superior weightlifter and he should feel ashamed. I may have overdone this as by the time he started CF, Baz was under the impression that I had a 200kg deadlift. My advice for n00bs is stay away from Bernie in 6am.

12>Favourite cheat meal?
Pizza

13> Favourite thing about Perpetua?
The 6am crew. It takes a lot of dedicated to get your arse out of bed to be at the gym at 6am every morning (or 6.15am if you are Jason Keely), but everyone not only shows up, but they work hard and have fun while they are at all. Sound coaches, sound people.

14>Bonus question: Most memorable or funniest moment at Perpetua?
It’s a toss up between being on the winning team in the “6am vs. 630am Who is the best morning class battle” or that time last week when Bernie did bench press with a large rip in his shorts.
