Battle 2: Event Format

Round 2 of The London Box Battles will be an individual event. All athletes will be required to complete 3 separate WODS on the day of battle.

However, the London Box Battles is not all about the elite athletes of the box. Our grouping system is designed to encourage athletes of all abilities to take part in a friendly competition and the WODs will be scaled accordingly.  All of the feedback from Round 1 was super positive and we hope to encourage more athletes to take up arms and represent their box in the fight for London CrossFit bragging rights (Round 1 results here)

Each box will select 2 male and 2 female athletes to compete in the final WOD.  This WOD will be a team WOD and all 4 athletes will work together to complete.

The girls go first and must complete:

10 HSPU each*

20 Deadlift 75kg each*

200m Partner Carry (100m each)

When the girls finish the guys must complete:

10 HSPU each*

20 Deadlifts 110kg each*

200m Partner Carry (100m each)

*Note: the athlete that goes first must complete all reps of the exercise before the other athlete can start. P1 completes all HSPU and then P2 completes all HSPU. P1 then does all 20 deadlifts before P2 can start.

Battle 2: Number of athletes

Due to space and time constraints, each box will only be able to enter 34 athletes for the competition:

Group A. 4 male and 4 female athletes (total 8)

Group B. 16 athletes in total (any number of guys/girls)

Group C. 10 athletes in total (any number of guys/girls)

Max athletes from each box = 34

To qualify, we will be selecting one of CFSL’s regularly programmed WODs to use as a qualifier workout: ‘Little Bear’, on Wednesday 25 June. The athletes who are interested in competing and perform the best on this workout will be entered in to the competition.

As with Round 1, regardless of whether or not you are competing, we encourage as many people to come down as possible – cheer on your athletes!

Let’s get ready to smash it!
