How I found Crossfit……

I got introduced to Crossfit while living in Dubai in 2012. I noticed changes in my fitness within weeks of starting Crossfit, I became stronger and more lean. I also loved the idea of the high energy and high intensity classes and was instantly hooked on the different type of training that I was used to.

Where I started….

I was involved in Athletics from a young age competing at County, Inter County and National level. I won the all Irelands indoors at the age of 14 and I held the Dublin Cross Country title for a number of consecutive years in my teens. I then went on to continuously do well at County and National level. I decided to study Leisure Management and I now have a Bachelor of Science as well as a Level 1 Fitness Instructing Cert with the University of Limerick.

How I got here…

As I always knew I would have a career in fitness I wanted to know more about crossfit so this is why I wanted to start the apprentice programme with Crossfit Dublin. With some time on my hands after returning from Dubai last March I thought it be to a great opportunity to start the programme and broaden my knowledge of Crossfit off the current coaches in CFD who all have something different to offer. I recently passed the Level 1Crossfit Trainer exam in London.

My Goals

As I have started helping out a bit more in classes, I love the idea of fixing someone’s incorrect movement, whether its adding in a box to help improve a squat or showing progressions to push ups, I get a kick out of helping others improve as I was in that position myself when I started Crossfit and I appreciated any assistance I was given. Other goal is to continue to develop as a Crossfit athlete and master the gymnastics side of it.
