Members of the month – September

As you might have seen we look to choose a member of the month from each gym. After speaking with Dave we decided that for September that member is you!
Our reasons for this were that Kai are very consistent with turning up, you focus on technique and improving movement before loading. Kai’s effort in every session is 100%, and Kai you might not see it yourself but we as coaches can see it’s paying off and you’re continually improving. We hope that you feel the same way!
Keep up the good work man, the progress is happening!

1.How were you introduced to Crossfit?

After few years of desk job I was searching for something to get my fitness up. A colleague of mine told me about CF – took 2 more weeks to find you guys and get an intro session.

Lived in Finland for a year

Trekking

9.Song that gets me pumped up for a workout:

10.Proudest accomplishment:

Walked Camino Del Santiago

11. Main two things that have most improved since joing CFD?

Pull ups and squats?

I think thats all. Answering all these questions was more difficult that I thought:)

Blackrock – Claire Walsh

1.How were you introduced to Crossfit?

A friend of mine had just started in a Crossfit near him and it was ALL HE SPOKE ABOUT.
I hurt my knee running last December so was looking for something else…Enter Crossfit Dublin.

2.Favorite WOD/lift:

I like anything with deadlifts, I don’t mind rowing and don’t mind box jumps…So I SHOULD like Christine, in theory anyway.
In practise on Saturday it was quite different!!

3.I have always wanted to…

be able to do a perfect cartwheel.

4. One word people use to describe me:

To my face?! Determined.

5.Outside of the gym I like to…

Hang out with friends / family..the usual. Go dancing. Swim. Sing. Go to theatre. Play scrabble (yes, I’m that rock n roll).

6.Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me:

I used to teach in an acting school in London. One of my students was Nick Nolte’s son.

Son: Claire, can I be excused early from class today?
Claire: No. Class doesn’t finish until 4. What’s the hurry anyway?
Son: I’m flying to Cannes film festival.
Claire: ………oh. Fair enough….

7.Favorite physical activity outside of Crossfit:

Working on a physical theatre piece – which will invariably involve rolling on the floor at some point.
So, rolling on the floor.

8.Favorite place to eat in Dublin:

Salt

9.Song that gets me pumped up for a workout:

Sweat – Snoop Dogg.

10.Proudest accomplishment:

Winning the raffle in 3rd class to see who got to take the goldfish home over the Easter holidays.

11. Main two things that have most improved since joing CFD?

My strength.
My patience – this sh*t takes time!!
