Just spent 8 weeks in London with the CrossFit South London crew. Was a great experience and one I gained a lot from.
Coaching wise it reassured me that this is something I want to do. Enjoyed the challenge of not knowing people as well, how well they moved, how strong they were. It changed my focus and gave me confidence in my coaching.
There is a great atmosphere in the gym, not over-hyped or fake. Just raw enthusiasm and determination. It shows in the results and development of the members there. Sacrificing time for technique, there is a great training mentality there already. They want to do this properly.
You really have no option but to step up your game. If you want to push yourself harder than you ever have, get back in to a competitive/team environment then this place is perfect. If you don’t think you’re capable, the gym is very welcoming and makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. You will soon learn a lot about yourself and realise what you are actually capable of.
I personally hit some big PRs and broke some long standing ones as well.
Press – (80kg) 87.5kg
Bench – (100×4) 110kgx4
Power clean – (120) 125kg
Squat – (160) – 165kg
Snatch – (87.5) – 95kg
First strict bar muscle up
