Shake’n it up at the Fuel Bar

 In Blog, CrossFit Perpetua, London

Did you know that we serve more than just protein shakes?

The Perpetua Power Station, or as most of you probably know it better as the Fuel Bar, has been open for over 2 years now. It started up as a simple idea to provide our members with protein shakes and protein snacks for after workouts.

I took over the running of the bar about 2 years ago and since then it has changed quite a bit.  I now manage the Fuel Bar as well as coach full time – at present we have 2 part time staff: Louis & Alja – On occasion Eliane and Bee can be found behind the coffee machine.

I wanted to share with you some of the things we offer at the bar and let you in on some exciting changes that are on the horizon.

We serve up  5 different delicious smoothie flavours,  including amazing chocolate & peanut butter and berries & coconut water. With the help of Alja we are revamping the smoothie menu to roll out in the next few weeks –  we are testing out some yummy new flavours! So definitely watch this space.

There is fresh barista coffee available throughout the day, so if you need a quick pick me up first thing before your workout or a chat with friends over a coffee at the bar after your workout, the Fuel Bar serves anything from Espresso style drinks to Bullet Proof Coffee. For those of you who have never tried Bullet Proof it is definitely worth a try! Well what is it? Fresh coffee, blended with butter from grass fed cows & coconut oil. Sounds bizarre but it really is delicious!

Alongside our drinks we sell a number of yummy snacks. Battle Oats bars are our best seller along with good quality protein bars from Max Bars – you need to try the moreish Escape & Bake millionaire shortbread bars.

The newest addition to the menu are the Proper Food Project’s handmade protein balls. If you haven’t tried these yet I suggest you do!  They are perfect with a coffee and just the right size for a small post workout snack. 10% of the sales of these balls go to the Alma Mater Education which is a project creating sustainable solutions for the provision of quality education in developing countries such as Ghana.
