Strength in Perpetua

 In Blog, London

Everyone at Perpetua has a goal. It could be to look better, feel better or perform better. The comp team are no different, we might grunt a little louder and talk more than we train, but at the end of the day we’re there for the same reasons as every single member.

To be better.

Over the last few months all our effort, sweat, early mornings and late nights have been geared towards the weekend of the 5th and 6th of November at Strength in Depth.

What is it?
It’s our biggest competition of the calendar, both in size of the team, 14 of us will make the trip down, and also in how much it means to us. With that big of a team, team work is the only way to win.

What are the competition like?
We qualified 2nd out of the 40 teams that are heading to the finals and won 2 of the 3 workouts. Normally a feat in itself, except we want to go one further on finals day and try to finally topple JST, a box that has won it twice previously and has Regional and Games level athletes a plenty.

Where is it?
It’s being held at the University of Bath campus. A world class facility that will see the team tackle everything from classic CrossFit and outdoor assault courses to taking a dip in the pool. Coach Lexi can’t wait to don her swimming cap again…

How can I get involved?
This is a call to arms, we would love to have as many of you at Bath that weekend to fly the #PerpetuaNation flag. Let’s show the whole of the UK that, despite what they think, we have an even stronger community in London and especially at Perpetua!

If you need any information or want to know more, don’t hesitate to speak to one of the coaches. In the coming weeks there will be more announcements, so keep an eye out for them.

Dan who?
It promises to be an unmissable weekend and your support would mean the world to us. Plus this year Team Reebok are rumoured to be fielding athletes in their squad that include 6x games competitor Dan Bailey. Making this a great way to see what the CrossFit Games are all about too.

Win, win.
